Assignment:

Once you have finished typing your articles, complete the following steps to create a professional looking newsletter.

  • Go to the page layout tab and change the orientation of your paper to “landscape”

  • Create a title for your document (ex. Technology Tips).  The title of the document should be much larger than the rest of the text, but SHOULD NOT be word art.  Insert a “continuous” section break after this title.

  • Give each article an interesting title.  You can make the font and size different from the one you used in the article, but DO NOT use word art.

  • Use the paragraph button to make sure you have no extra tabs or spaces between articles.

  • Highlight the article text (NOT THE MAIN TITLE), go to the page layout tab and choose 3 columns.

  • Insert a column break after your first article and one after your second article.

  • Choose 3 clip art images that relate to the topics you have written about and insert them in your document.  Adjust the text wrapping so that the pictures look nice.

  • Make the first letter of each article a “drop cap” (you will need to wait for instructions on how to do this)

  • Adjust the font, size, and/spacing of the article text (or of the clip art pictures) so that each article "fills up" an entire column.

  • Save the document.
